Privacy Policy

amux ("amux," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use our websites, apps and services (the "Services"), and what we do with it.

Your Agents and Sessions

Traffic between your devices is end-to-end encrypted. When it passes through the amux relay, the relay forwards it without being able to decrypt it: we cannot read your chats, prompts, code or agent output, and nothing you send through the relay is stored. The relay sees only the routing information it needs, such as which of your devices are connected, when, and how much data passes.

The one exception is a problem report. If you choose to send one from the app, it includes a screenshot, your notes and diagnostic logs. Secrets, file paths, email addresses and machine names are removed from the logs before they are sent, but the screenshot and the conversation in the logs can still show content from your session. Reports are only ever sent when you press Send.

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you set one, a password, which is stored only as a one-way hash. If you sign in with GitHub or Google, we receive your name, email address and an identifier from that provider, never your password. You can add a display name and profile picture, and when you sign up we may ask how you heard about amux; answering is optional.

Product Analytics

The amux app and daemon send usage statistics: which features are used and how often, whether steps such as pairing and signing in succeed, error codes, your platform and amux version, and random identifiers amux creates for your installation and devices. If you are signed in, they are linked to your account so that your devices count as one person. They never include your email address, names, file paths, prompts, chat content, or anything you type.

Analytics are on by default. You can turn them off at any time with amux config telemetry off on your computer, or with the Share Usage switch in the iOS app.

Our website counts visits without cookies or any identifier stored on your device. Our servers also record account events such as signing up and changes to your subscription. Where we use your IP address, it is only to estimate your country, and it is not stored.

Cookies

We use cookies only to sign you in and keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers for hosting, payments (including Apple for purchases in the iOS app), email delivery, file storage and product analytics. They process information on our behalf only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law.

Retention and Security

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your Choices

You can turn off product analytics at any time, as described above. You can delete your account from the Account page of the amux dashboard; this removes your account information and the analytics linked to it. You can also contact us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will change the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
